Important Notice

On Wednesday, December 15, 2004 the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit ruled that the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico has jurisdiction over triple-cross or three-mark split-ticket Commonwealth election ballots. Although both the Commonwealth Elections Commission (CEE) and the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico had acknowledged the validity of the controversial split-ticket votes, these were not being adjudicated by order of the United States District Court for Puerto Rico, now overturned by the Court of Appeals decision.

Beginning Saturday, December 18, 2004, results for the offices of Governor and Resident Commissioner include triple-cross or three-mark split-ticket votes.
